Jeraldene Barnard Cole, 85, of Flat, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Walter Davidson officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the funeral home.
Jeraldene was born in Mound, Texas, to the late Sam and Ina Cummings Barnard. She attended school in Mound, graduating from Gatesville High School in 1945. Jeraldene married Felix Royl "Preacher" Cole, Jr. on April 27, 1946, in Gatesville. She was a member of Flat Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Case Barnard, Chick Barnard, and Sterlin Barnard; sisters, Della Marshall, Stella McFarlin, and Hellen Cole; grandson, Brandon John Cole; and son-in-law, Bill Smith.
Jeraldene is survived by her sons, Roy Cole and wife, Trisha, of Flat, and Randy Cole and wife, Kathy, of Gatesville; daughter, Gaylene Smith, of Gatesville; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
