Anthony “Peg” L. Coats 48, of Elyria passed away unexpectedly on Sunday June 2, 2013.

He was born in York Alabama then coming to Elyria 30 yrs ago.

He was a graduate of Sumter High School in Alabama class of 1983 where he played varsity basketball and football. Mr. Coats was employed as a crew manager for Burger King Corp. Downtown Elyria and North Olmsted Ohio. He enjoyed Bar-BQ’s, was an avid card player, he enjoyed movies and spending time with family and friends.

He is Survived by his mother; Nellie Mae McCoy of York, Ala., companion; Patricia Wohlever of Elyria, Oh., Children; Antonio Ward, Anthony Jr. of Lorain, Rhyven Coats, Victor Watkins of York, Ala., Naashon Coats, Tiara and Kayla Coats, Antonio, Jamal Harris, Darryl , Michael Cannon of Elyria, brothers; Marvin McCoy of York, Ala., Clarence (Peggy) Coats, Leon (Amy) McCoy, Ray Jackson of MS., Sisters; Teresa McCoy, Anne McCoy of York Ala., nephews and nieces Jasper, Andre, Mario, Fredrick, Robert, Jr. Keisha, Pam, Shannon and a host of other nieces and nephews and family members.

He was proceeded in death by father; Leon McCoy of York, Ala., son; Dominique Coats of Elyria, Oh., Cousin Debbie Austin of York Ala.

Friends may call Monday June 10, 2013 6-8 pm in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel 127 West Bridge St. Elyria, Ohio services will be Tuesday June 11, 2013 in the Second Baptist Church 427 Chapman Lane, Elyria Rev. Mark Taylor will be officiating, burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
