"John A Vanderhoof Dies At Spartansburg Saturday - Spartansburg, Dec 8 - John Alexander Vanderhoof, aged nearly 78 years, died at noon on Saturday at the home of his brother, George W Vanderhoof, where he had made his home for a number of years. He was oldest son of George and Eveline Vanderhoof and was born at Townville on December 13, 1851. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs Harriet Hall of Detroit, Mich, and two sons, Ralph and Smith Vanderhoof of Corry. There are also three brothers, William, James, and George W Vanderhoof, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr Vanderhoof enjoyed a large acquaintance among whom he was held in high esteem. Funeral services in his memory will be conducted from the M E church on Monday at 2 pm, with interment in Rose Hill cemetery."
