Donald Wilder

OTRANTO - Donald Keith Wilder, age 66, of Otranto, passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, peacefully in his home, under the care of his family and Iowa Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Dave Byrd, Iowa Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Following services, cremation will take place with inurnment at Woodbury Cemetery in rural Lyle, Minn.
Visitation will be held from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home.
Don "Donnie" was born Dec. 15, 1944, in Mason City, to Andrew "Jack" Jackson and Elmira (Smith) Wilder.
Don married Peggy Gauthier on Feb. 20, 1962, and was blessed with six children. They later divorced. Don married Mary Malloy on March 15, 1983, and was blessed with two children. They later divorced. Don was a carpenter and construction worker in Mitchell County and in the Chicago, Illinois area.
Don is survived by his children, John (Melissa) Wilder of Manhattan, Ill., Jeff Wilder of Plano, Texas, Jodi Wilder (Michael Ring) of Otranto, Jennifer (Tim) Nordlof of Plymouth, Minn., Jane Wilder of Two Harbors, Minn., Callie Wilder (Travis Jones) of Kailua Village, Hawaii, Russell Wilder of Otranto; nine grandchildren: Austin Wilder and Shane Wilder of Manhattan, Ill., Jade Wilder of Otranto, Hunter Nordlof and Alayna Nordlof of Plymouth, Minn., Drew, Devan, Donovan and Darian Wilder of Two Harbors, Minn.; brother, Roger (Barb) Wilder of St. Ansgar; sisters, Janine (Darwin) Neuman and Joan (Steven) Braun of St. Ansgar; 16 nephews; 22 nieces; 13 great-nieces; 18 great-nephews; three great-great-nieces; four great-great-nephews; and special friend, Cheryl.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Laurel, Marlin and Doyle; infant son, Donald, Jr.; a nephew; two great-nephews; and a great-niece.
