Jeanne A. Walters, of Susanville, Calif. passed away peacefully Thursday, May 16 at Bella Vita Assisted Living in Reno, Nev. at the age of 88. Jeanne was born in Centralia, Wash. on April 3, 1925 to Authur and Mildred Wilson. She was the second oldest out of four siblings.

After high school in Bremerton, Wash. she married Thomas William Walters, Sic U.S.N. on Oct. 9, 1943. Together they had six children, three boys and three girls, across the United States. In 1961 moved to Vallejo, Calif. were they resided for more than 25 years.

She was a licensed caregiver with the state of California to help HIV/AID patients in Long Beach, Calif. She held a degree in nutrition, D.H.M. — diploma of homeopathic medicine and a certificate in herbology.

Toward her later years, Jeanne became a Buddhist and an active member of S.G.I-USA. She practiced Buddhism up until her last days here on Earth.

Jeanne loved animals and never turned a cheek to an animal in need.

Jeanne is survived by her son, Samuel Walters, of Shawnee, Okla.; her three daughters, Laurel Anderson, of Kailua, Hawaii, LaDel Bonham, of Alturas, Calif. and Estel Grover, of Haleiwa, Hawaii; and her brother and sister, Richard Wilson, of Washington and Aneta Gable, of Montana; along with her 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
