Amber Troutman McVey, 41, of Mason, Ohio, died Friday, May 31, 2013, at her residence. Survivors include her husband, William Albert McVey; two children, Zachary William McVey and Nicholas Vincent McVey; and her parents, Lloyd and Mary Troutman. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg. Burial follows in Marve-Bennett Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and continues at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Amber Troutman McVey, age 41 of Mason, OH passed away at home on May 31, 2013. She was born February 19, 1972 in Louisville, KY to Lloyd Vincent and Mary Deborah Brown Troutman. Amber was a 1990 graduate of Meade County High school. She attained a Bachelor of Science from Murray State University. Upon completion of her degree, she began working for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. It was in this era of her life that she met and married her husband. Together they made a move to Austin, TX where she worked at a biotechnology firm. Many changes came in TX among them, the birth of twin boys. She also joined the Richard III Society, an organization she was an officer of for several years. Amber became a quilter and made many quilts including a beautiful deer quilt that she gave to her father. She worked at quilting specialty shops in Ohio and loved sharing her passion. Amber demonstrated great strength through her struggles with cancer. She was a great example and loved by many. Amber is survived by her: loving husband of 15 years, William Albert McVey; 2 children, Zachary William McVey and Nicholas Vincent McVey; parents, Lloyd and Mary Troutman of Brandenburg; brothers, Eric Troutman of Brandenburg, Matthew Troutman of Battletown, and Lamar Sharp of VA; grandfather Lamar Brown of Brandenburg; mother and father-in-law, Albert and Sue Ellen McVey; sister-in-law, Tracy McVey; a friend of decades, Stephanie Roise-Yamashita; special cousin, Tina Brown; special niece, Rebekah Starr; numerous cousins, friends, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with Brother Tom Bridge officiating. Burial will follow in Marve-Bennett cemetery.
