Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Arp, under direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler. Mrs. Smith died April 10, 2007, in a Tyler hospital.
She was born April 26 1921, in Gilmer and attended Friendship School in Gilmer. She was a homemaker and lived in Arp for 40 years. She was a member of Hopewell CME Church, where she served on Usher Board, Stewardess Board, Senior Choir, Mass Choir, Sunday school, Mission Society and Kitchen Committee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benzie Smith, four sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include brothers, Doris Webb, Gladewater, and L.Q. Webb, Gilmer.
Pallbearers are Henry E. Smith, Jessie Williams, Vincent Smith, Brockton Smith, Danny Paul Shackelford and Dylwin Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are stewards of Hopewell CME Church.
