BATTLE CREEK — Lorraine Thelma Kreuter, 91, of Battle Creek, passed away on March 24, 2014 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church in Bronson, with Rev. Father Richard Fritz officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher-Kolcz Funeral Home.
Lorraine was born Dec. 18, 1922 in Joliet, Ill. to William and Marie (Malovey) Blasky. She had been a member of St. Mary's Church and graduated from Bronson High School in 1940. She moved to Chicago in 1948 to begin her career.
Lorraine had worked as a secretary for Carson Pirie Scott and attended classes at Cook County School of Medicine and Northwestern University. Lorraine spent 20 years an Administrative Assistant to the Radiologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, retiring in June of 1999.
Lorraine had a passion for learning about medicine and her career and spent years reading medical and health textbooks. She loved music and dance, especially flamenco and ballet.
Lorraine is survived by her cousins Mike (Molly) Dayton of Marquette and Richard Blaskie of Channahon, Ill.; friends, Raymond (Kathryn) Burdge, Cindy Bowersox and Sophie Frontczak all of Battle Creek and Victor (Yonnie) Davila of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be directed to Branch County Humane Society.
