Rena Trine Howell, 86, went home to be with her Lord on July 27, 2004. Born on Dec. 6, 1917 in Oxford, N.Y., she was the daughter of Andrew and Emma Wilcox Mead of Oxford, N.Y. Rena graduated from Oxford High School in 1936. She married Melvin Trine on June 25, 1936. They owned and operated Trines Grocery Store in Wysox, Pa. for many years. Rena retired from A&P after 30 years of faithful Service. Rena was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Port Bryon, N.Y. Rena was a kind, considerate and loving person she will be remembered by many people in this area. Surviving are her husband Robert Howell of Port Byron, N.Y. whom she married on Dec. 24, 1978; one son, Gerald Trine (Lynda) of Webster, N.Y.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Browder (Ray) of North Palm Beach Fla., Margaret (Peggy) Horning (Dale) of Towanda, Pa.; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Trine of Powell, Pa; grandchildren, Kyle Horning and Kyleen Dinelli of Towanda, Jerry, Mark, Craig, Scott and Chris Trine of Wolcott, N.Y. Teresa Markowski of Wolcott, N.Y. Jim Swingle and Randy Swingle of Fla.; and many great-grandparents. She was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Trine on Jan. 19, 1996, her father Andrew in 1939, her mother Emma Mead in August of 1970 and a sister Mildred Spins of Towanda in May 14, 1988. The funeral service will be held Friday, July 30, at 1 p.m. at the Audioun Funeral Home in Port Bryon, N.Y. The committal service will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Towanda, Pa. at 4:30 p.m. Contributed by Carol Brotzman
