Marleyn "Bud" Lausch was born October 17, 1937 to Ernest and Dorothy Lausch at Valley City. He lived east of Dazey and attended the Sibley Trail School until the age of nine when his parents moved to Griggs County and resided on the Jaeger Farm in 1946.
He finished the rest of his grade school years at the Curtis School. Bud spent his high school years at Dazey and graduated in 1955.
Marleyn married Iyla Heskin in December 1970. They lived at Sibley and Cooperstown before moving to his parents' farm when Ernest and Dorothy retired. Bud and Iyla have two children, Shirley and Roger who attend the Hannaford Public School.
The Lauschs were members of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church at Dazey.
