John C. "Andy" Anderson, 83, of Aurora, loving husband of Lucille "Lou", passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 3rd, 2010. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by family, friends and neighbors for his kind hearted generosity, his gentle spirit, his sense of duty and his warm, genuine smile. John was born October 4, 1926 in Williston, TN and proudly served in the Navy on aircraft carriers in both WWII and Korea. John and Lou moved to Aurora in 1954 and were married 61 years. They both retired after 30 dedicated years of service at AT&T in Montgomery where they built many long lasting relationships with co-workers. He was a member of the VFW in Montgomery and the Phoenix and Turner Clubs where he often enjoyed visiting with friends. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Lou; son John "Bubba" (Marlene) Anderson of Plainfield; daughter Deborah (James) Hankes of Batavia; grandchildren Gage Anderson, Kathleen Hankes, Robert (Jennifer) Hankes, Andrew Hankes, Laura Anderson, Brad Anderson, and Brandon Fischer; six great-grandchildren (Jordan Hankes, Brennan Anderson, Maya Mccombs, Graham, Gavin and Griffin Hankes) and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his son Danny, his parents, four brothers and one sister. Family will receive guests on Friday May 7, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL. Funeral will be on Saturday May 8th at 10:00 am at the Memorial Home with interment following at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of John may be made to the VFW in Montgomery or any Veteran's charity of the donor's choice. Dieterle Memorial Home 630-897-1196 Filiberto Medrano Filiberto Medrano passed away suddenly from dehyration while he was working. He was born April 17, 1971 in Galesville, WI. to Gilberto Medrano and Gloria Torres Olivas. He leaves behind his wife, Ana L. Medrano; his children, Filiberto Jr., Selena A. and Jordan O.; parents, Gilberto and Gloria Medrano; siblings, Teresa (Tino) Hernandez, Jose (Pepe) Torres, Gloria and Octavio Medrano; in-laws, Comelio (Maria) Quintanilla, Jose M. (Gloria), Cornelio (Maria), Ricardo (Jo) and Roberto (Teresa); host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by Nicolas (Rafeala) Medrano, Jose (Catalina) Torres Olivas and uncle Mario Medrano. Visitation will be Thursday May 6, at James' from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Nicholas Church Friday May 7, at 10am. Interment in Spring Lake. James Funeral Service is serving the family 630-851-6503.
