Rita Jo Lawson-Beatty, 61, Russiaville, died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013. She was born in Kokomo on March 21, 1952, the daughter of Caleb P. and Nora E. (Fernung) Lawson.

Surviving are her sisters, Dixie (Ronnie) Howard, New London, Dianne (Charles) Watkins, Beverly Rodgers, and Karen Hale, Russiaville; stepsister, Anna Mae (Bob) Rutherford, New London; brother, David (Judy) Lawson, Sharpsville; sisters of her heart, Kathryn Parker, New London, Linda Goodnight, Kokomo; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, George W. Julian; nieces, Teri Cline, Sherri Kay Crew, Georgann Benziger; a great-niece, Natalie Cline; and the singularly most precious person in her life, her beloved daughter, Nora Kathryn (Kathie) Beatty.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with burial following in Russiaville Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
