From Daughter's Home - Funeral of James E. McGourty Followed by High Mass
The funeral of James E. McGourty was yesterday morning from the home of his daughter, Catherine, wife of David Westerlind, 34 Francis street, and was followed by a requiem high mass in St. Peter's church at 9 o'clock, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Dalton. The choir sang the Gregorian requiem mass under the direction of Miss Nellie V. Kerwin, organist. The bearers were Thomas McGourty, John Flynn, Thomas J. Fox, James Sullivan, Peter Lee, and James W. Laughlin. There were many floral tributes and spiritual offerings from relatives and friends. Burial was in St. John's cemetery, with services by Rev. James Reilly.
