William Allen Crandall was born September 26, 1854 at Douds, Iowa and passed away at Keosauqua, Iowa February 6, 1941 after a brief illness at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 10 days.

He was the son of Hachaliah and Margaret Crandall. He was married to Dora Smith, who preceeded him in death March 24, 1931. After her death he continued to make his home in and near Milton, Iowa, where he had many friends. He is the last of the Crandall family, his father, mother, sisters, Lucinda Harper and Sarah Meeker, and brother St. Clair Crandall all having preceeded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his death two nieces Mrs. Bertha Dunkinfield of Seattle, Washington, and Mrs. Charles Korous of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a nephew Charles Harper of Mediapolis, Iowa, and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Crandall was a true friend and neighbor.

Funeral services were conducted at the Burnett funeral home in Milton at 10 am Sunday by the Rev. A.M. Hadley, pastor of the Christian church. Mrs Barryl Gilchrist was the pianist. Pallbears were A.M. Brady, E.J. Andrew, W.D. Russell, J.W. Burchett, G. Burnett and Will Allen. Interment was in Milton Sunnyside cemetery.
