Albert was the son of Edwin J. and Almyra A. Spafford. He was single.

Nov 23, 1893 - Humboldt county Republican - Albert Spafford died at the home of his parents near this town on Friday Nov. 10th, 1893, of typhoid fever, aged twenty-one years and sixteen days.

He was born in Fond du Lac county Wis., on Oct. 25, 1872, and at the age of seven years moved with his parents to Charles City, Iowa. After a residence of one year there he removed with his parents to the farm which his father had purchased north of this town, and assisted in working the place up to about two years ago, when he went to Rockford and assisted in the publication of his uncle's paper, the Rockford Register. He was engaged in this work till last June, when he went to work on a farm near that place, and was still laboring there up to a few weeks ago.

About a mouth ago, being taken sick, he came home. His sickness developed into typhoid fever. There were times when it was thought he would recover, but a relapse finally left him too weak to rally, and last Friday morning he passed away.

He was a member at the Baptist church, had ever been known as an upright young man, obedient as a son, and faithful in the discharge of whatever labor he was engaged in. A bright future seemed in store for him and his parents looked hopefully forward to see him attain the success which seemed to await him; but the end came and they bow to the decree of providence with sorrowful hearts.

The funeral occurred at the Baptist church last Sunday morning, the house not being able to contain the large number of sympathizing friends that gathered to pay their respects to the memory of the deceased. Rev. Sumner preached the funeral sermon, and we have heard it spoken of many time since as very appropriate for this occasion. A large number of teams followed the remains to their last resting place, and the deceased was laid away in Sumner cemetery to await the awakening of the last day. Livermore Gazette
