Obsequies.

ROBERT T. PAYNE.

The obsequies over the remains of the late Dr. ROBERT TREAT PAYNE were observed from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. STETSON on High street this afternoon. Sprout Post of this city attended in a body and the Rev. E. B. FURBISH, chaplain, performed the last sad rites. A beautiful star with "G. A. R." on it adorned the casket and other cut flowers and greens were strewn about. The following gentlemen, chosen from the medical profession, officiated as bearers: Drs. COSFORD, FORD, CLARK, GOULD, RANSOM, BAKER and JOHN FOOTE. There were present from abroad Dr. WEED and daughter, Miss KATE WEED of Jordan, Mrs. MARSHALL of Medina, Dr. HUGGINS of Sanborn, and Captain DAVID HARDIE of Albion. The interment was at Cold
Springs cemetery.

An incident connected with his death was related this morning by Capt. W. W. BUSH. The captain stated that he received a letter from WM. P. WARREN of Dayton, Ohio, dated Nov 30th, the day Dr. PAYNE died, in which the writer, who was quite severely wounded in the late war and had been attended by Dr. PAYNE, inquired after the Doctor and sent his kind regards to him and other friends in the city.
