Mary "Minnie" Gibson McFadden, 90, widow of Matt McFadden Sr., died Friday, May 31, 2013, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Manning, a daughter of the late Junious and Lou McFadden Gibson.

She received her formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County. She was employed at Ramada Inn, Windsor Manor Nursing Home, 20th Century Sewing Plant, and Summerton Apparel for many years.

In her youth, she joined Mt. Zero Missionary Baptist Church. Later, she joined Gum Spring Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities.

Survivors are her children, Matt (Brenda) McFadden Jr. of Cayce, and Audrey Johnson, Novel Ellison and Catherine Lemon, all of Manning, Minnie (Horace) Flennory of Miami, Fla., James (Betty) McFadden of New York, N.Y., Carrie (Tyrone) Carraway of Columbia, and Deloris (Marcellus) Conyers; an additional daughter-in-law, Frances McFadden; 38 grandchildren; 95 great-grandchildren; and 30 great-great-grandchildren.

The celebratory services: Gum Spring Missionary Baptist Church, 6973 Summerton Highway, Pinewood, with Bishop Darrell McFadden, eulogist, Pastor Michael Collins, presiding, and the Rev. Dr. O.J. Hannah, the Rev. Ranzy McFadden Jr. and the Rev. Herman A. Blanding assisting.
