Victor Hugo Vinicio Cianci was born June 16, 1917, in Chicago, to Gilda "Moochie" Romagnoli and Francesco "Nono" Cianci.

Victor lived in Mafalda, Italy, for 14 years before returning to the United States with his two brothers, Alfonso and Dino. Victor served in the Army overseas and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received in battle. Upon returning to the United States he met his forever love, Helen Marie Clancy, at a military ball in Chicago. The story of their everlasting love began. Vic and Helen were inseparable for their entire marriage.

They had four children -- Victor, Donald, Raymond and Mary. Their children blessed them with 10 grandchildren, Ryan, David, Diana, Andrea, Katelynn, Emily, Victoria, Maria, Marguex and Madeline. They were further blessed with four great-grandchildren, Daylyn, Dylan, Devyn and Ginger Lynn.

Victor and Helen began their remarkable life together in Chicago where Victor's career in photography began. In 1971, the Cianci family moved to Longview to raise the children and opened Cianci Studio. Victor was world-renowned for his mastery of photographic techniques and Rembrandt lighting. Victor was an active member of the Longview Rotary and Helen an active member of Soroptomist. They enjoyed the beauty of the Northwest and the loving atmosphere of Longview. Their faith was their rock, their family their joy. Victor will be dearly missed. He was dearly loved by all who knew him.

"Arrivederci bellissima Papa Victor."

A vigil is planned for 7 p.m. Thursday and a funeral Mass for 11 a.m. Friday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Longview. A reception will follow the Mass at 1:30 p.m. in the church's parish hall. Private family interment will take place at Longview Memorial Park.
