Frost Vickie Hanson, of Frost, unexpectedly departed this life on May 25, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester due to a brain aneurysm.

Funeral Services were held May 30, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Earth. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.

Vickie Lynne was born on Aug. 31, 1958, in Winnebago, to Harold Jr. and Betty Ann (Heinrich) Ogburn. Actively involved with Bar-Cott 4-H Club and Trinity youth group, Vickie graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1976. She attended Gustavus Adolphus College where she earned a bachelor's of science in nursing. Vickie married Robert "Bob" Hanson on Aug. 23, 1980, and they lived and farmed in the Frost area. Children, Janie and Brice, joined the family, and Vickie was an active supporter of their academic, athletic, and artistic activities. She enjoyed sewing and design, and co-founded Heartland Embroidery with Sue Oswald. In the following years, Vickie had few "traditional jobs" but she was always busy with family, friends and community, including 10 years on the Blue Earth Area School Board. A constant source of energy and encouragement for others, Vickie was at her best when lending a helping hand. A final testament to Vickie's love for others was the gift of numerous organs through LifeSource organ donation.

Vickie is survived by her husband, Robert, of Frost; daughter, Janie, of New York City, NY; son, Brice, of Blue Earth; sister, Judy (Dave) Jerde, of White Bear Lake; brother, Walt (Lynn) Ogburn, of Stillwater; parents, Betty Ann and Harold Ogburn, of?Winnebago; and many nieces and nephews.
