Joyce worked in the Sac Community School District for 30+ years. She and Charlie also owned and operated Sears/The Sampler business until the late 1990's. In 2001, she moved to Puyallup, WA to live near her daughter and family.
Joyce was an avid bridge player, and loved all kinds of needlecraft. She managed the neighborhood library, and was affectionately referred to as the ‘matriarch of the community center'. She also enjoyed her daily walks, attending her great grandkids' sporting events, and loved watching sports on TV.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; son, John; and sister, Marilyn Weideman.
She is survived by daughter, Cheri (Vern) Potts; son, Paul (Dena) Maxwell; sister, Rosemary (Charles) Girard; grandchildren; Alicia (Keven) Snyder; Lindsey (Sean) Draper, Whitney Maxwell, Dane Maxwell, Keely (Nic) Pedersen; and great grandchildren Asher and Tatum Snyder, and Reagan and Ian Draper.
