They were the parents of eight children: Tessie Marie, Gladys Louis, Ruth Barbara, Leslie Joseph [Bud], Dorothy Winifred, George Vincent, Anna Helen, and Mary Margaret.
The couple divorced in 1946 and later he married Helen VanDorn Peterson.
Les worked for the railroad and in his later life worked at the Board of Trade in Kansas City.
Les and Helen moved to Tucson Arizona where he died on December 30 1970.
