Mr. Roland William Stanley, 65 of Crossett, AR died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Ashley County Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a retired construction worker for Ark-Oregon-Pneumatics, and a member of Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Stanley was a US Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Emmalee Berryman, his parents, Charlie B. and Bessie Pennington Stanley, three brothers: Wayne Wright, Lincoln & James Stanley and three sisters: Helen Barrett, Brenda Sue Cross & Dorothy Smith. Roland was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing and hunting, especially squirrel hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Wilcox Stanley, three daughters: Wendy Morris and Paula Stanley, husband Allen all of Crossett, AR, Robin Berryman, husband Jason of Hamburg, AR, three brothers: Herman, Kenneth & Lowell Stanley all of Crossett, AR, three sisters: Pauline Johnson & Joyce Wilcox both of Crossett, AR, Mary Rollins of Jacksonville, AR, five grandchildren, Trey Morris, Alex Jones, Katelynn White, Hanna & Nicole Stanley and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and loved ones.
Funeral services are Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 11:00 am at Pine Forest Missionary Baptist with Bro. Willie Thornhill, officiating. Pallbearers are Dennis Banks, Daniel Ferguson, Phillip Wisecarver, Donald Carter, Steven Wilcox & Steven Cross. Burial in Simms Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
Visitation Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church .
