MUNCIE - Bonnie "Bud" Gene Davenport, 81, of Muncie, IN, passed away at 4:00 a.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013 while in the company of family members, at his residence.

"Bud" was born in Maysville, KY on December 15, 1931, a son of the late Cora Lee (Sellers) and Belvin Applegate Davenport.

He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church Muncie, IN and never missed a Sunday morning unless he was gravely ill. He really enjoyed his Sunday School Class taught by Rose Bundy.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War being stationed in Japan and Korea and was personal driver for many officers.

He was formerly employed as machine operator at Kerr Glass Dunkirk, for forty-three years and never complained about the heat or being to tired when arriving home after work. He also worked at National Car Rental and Enterprise Car Rental.

He had a lot of sayings that as a family we always got a kick out of. He would make up songs and sing them to the kids and grandkids.

He was the loving husband of Calista Ann (Linn) Davenport, who survives; "Bud" is survived by three daughters, Ruste "Jill", (domestic partner, Vee Vallerie), of Muncie, IN, Shawn Davenport, of Bloomington, IN, Angel, wife of Michael Alter, of Yorktown, IN.; seven grandchildren, Katherine Eversole (Dwight), Buddie Neace (fiance', Jerry Gootee), Winston Neace, Alexis Hershey, Kylie Hershey, Benjamin Hershey, and Philip Alter; three great-grandchildren, Kristan Eversole, Parker Alderson and Prudence Neace; two sisters, Otine, widow of Moe Bogenschutz, of Hartford City, IN, Lulabell, widow of "Bud" Lawhorn, of Pennville, IN; a brother, Jimmy, husband of Ann Davenport, of Dunkirk, IN.

He was preceded in death by both parents, Belvin and Cora Davenport; siblings, Wilena Cavin, Margaret Ann Foster, Carol Joyce Sapp, Mary Katherine "Mousie" Dale, and Thomas Davenport.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 following the visitation at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Muncie, with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating.
