DAUGHTER OF EARLY COUNTY FAMILY DIES
Funeral rites were to be held at 3:30 Wednesday at Five-Mile Baptist Church in Cockrell for Mrs. Perdita Ledbetter, 65, who died Tuesday at the home of a daughter at 2631 Emmett Street. The Rev. V. H. Day an the Rev. George Beaver, were to afficiate with interment in Five-Mile Cemetery.
Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Meredith Myers, one of the county's first pioneer families. Mrs Ledbetter was the widow of A.L. (Lon) Ledbetter, son of another of the oldest families and prior to his death in 1932 a county commissioner, Ledbetter Drive was named after him. She made her home in Cockrell Hill.
Survivors include two sons, Hubedrt Ledbetter and Gordon Ledbetter of Dallas; three daughters, Mrs Lois Talley, Mrs. Ethel Jones, a brother, R. L. Myers, Muday, Knox County; two sisters, Mrs Mollie Carter, Dallas, and Mrs. Ollie Britain, Cisco, and ten grandchildren.
