Bob was born In Dallas and grew up in the town of Reinhardt, which is now a part of Dallas. He graduated in 1945 from Garland High School, where he was co-captain of the 1944 undefeated Region 4 Champions football team. From 1946-1949 he served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at the Navy Airfield in Grand Prairie. In 1949 he went to work for Warner Brothers Motion Pictures in the shipping department. He eventually rose to the positions of Southern Division Sales Manager and Vice President of Distribution. He retired from Warner Brothers in 1995 after having worked there for 46 years. He was a member of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, the Shrine, and First Methodist Church of Garland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Fredna Motley and his great grandson Liam Motley. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean Motley of Mesquite, son Max Motley and wife, Lou Ann of Mesquite, son, Lee Motley of Dallas; daughter Robin Schofield and husband Bill of Denton, grandchildren, Matthew Motley of Frisco, Lauren Jean Girard and husband Bob of Temple, Lauren Elizabeth Motley of Justin, Zack Motley of Nacogdoches, and Griffin Schofield of Denton, and great-granddaughter, Haley Knight of Justin. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Beach and husband, Charles, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8PM at Williams Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 10AM at the Motley Family Cemetery, 3737 Motley Drive, Mesquite, Texas. The family wishes to thank the staff of Cambridge Court Assisted Living and Memory Care Community and the staff of Gardendale Hospice for the excellent care Bob received in his final few months.
