Donna Mae Hatcher, 72, of Minatare, passed away June 2, 2013 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A memorial service will be held June 6, at the First Presbyterian Church in Minatare. Interment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Minatare.Donna was born June 15, 1940 in Haig, Nebraska to Adam and Lillian (Steinmiller) Axt. She married Lanny Dale Hatcher on October 11, 1959 in Scottsbluff.
Donna worked at the Scottsbluff Wal-Mart for 18 years before retiring. She was an avid Bingo player, traveling all around the valley to play. Donna was well-known for sharing her special gift of a green thumb. She took great pride in caring for flowers and gardening for her church, friends and neighbors. Her friends and family have described her as headstrong, on-the-go, inspirational and motivated. Donna didn't allow herself to slow down even while suffering from health issues. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her family.
Survivors include her children, Cora Lee (Brad) Colwell of Westminster, CO and David (Jen) Hatcher of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Daniel Colwell of Westminster, CO, Alyssa (Cody) Viola of Northglenn, CO, and Mckenzie and Drake Hatcher of Wichita, KS; sister, Sharon Loffredo of Iowa; special niece, Janice Tucker of Dix, NE; brothers-in-law, Terry (Merna) Hatcher of Gering and Curt (Andrea) Lincoln; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Preceding Donna in death were her parents; husband, Lanny in 2000; daughter, Lana Dale Hatcher; infant son, Douglas Adam Hatcher; and four sisters, Violet, Arlene, Vivian and Shirley.
