RUDOLPH --- Eleanor Fern Roe, 75, of 16390 Mermill Road, died Thursday at her residence.
Mrs. Roe was a third- and fourth-grade teacher at Milton Township Elementary School.
She was a graduate of Milton Township High School and Bowling Green State University.
Mrs. Roe was an American Red Cross Volunteer, working at Wood County Hospital for 35 years, and was a member of hospital guild.
She was the current treasurer of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International Inc., and its Auglaize Valley, Toledo and other Ohio units. She was the past secretary of the Port O'Call Recreation Assoc., Melbourne, Fla., where she lived in the winter, and attended Palm Bay Christian Church there.
Mrs. Roe was a charter lifetime member of Christian Senior Fellowship; a member of Weston Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school and directed vacation Bible school and the Christmas programs; and she was a youth sponsor and Camp Mom, interested in the missionary endeavors.
She was born Dec. 20, 1917, in Toledo, to C. Elmer and Ruby (Claggett) Edwards. She married Dale Roe on June 8, 1938, in Angola, Ind. He died on Sept. 29, 1987.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen Apple, Bowling Green; four sisters, Bernice Conklin, Doris Mertz and Rosalyn Anderson, all of Bowling Green; and Betty Okuley, Findlay; two brothers, Kenneth Edwards, Castalia, and Darwin Edwards, Glendale, Ariz; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A private funeral will be held today. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bowling Green. Rev. Dale Smeltzer will officiate.
There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the church or the Bridge Hospice Care Center, of southern Wood County.
