Cleo Horne Dillon, 82, of Taft, Texas, passed away on October 6, 1999. She was born on February 25, 1917, in Corpus Christi, to Charles J. and Maggie Horne. As a child she lived in the London Community before moving to Corpus Christi and finishing her schooling. She graduated from Texas A&I College in 1939 and taught home-economics in Mathis. On February 8, 1941, she married R.C. Dillon and they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage in Taft. Cleo was a member of the First Methodist Church of Taft and The Woman's Club of Taft. Cleo is survived by her husband, Robert Crawford Dillon; her children, Dianne (Mike) Moppert of Missouri City, Texas, Robert Crawford Dillon, Jr. of Taft, Texas, Linda (Charles) Brown of Taft, Texas; her sister, Neva Lois (Bob) Mitchell of Springfield, Missouri; her brother, Earl J. (Mary) Horne of Caddo Mills, Texas; her sisters-in-law, Alberta Horne and Kathleen Horne of Corpus Christi, Texas; her brother-in-law, John M. Clayton of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren: Michael Moppert, Melanie Moppert, Melinda Moppert, Kelly Dillon Boatman, James Dillon, Megan Dillon, Melissa Brown Knisley, Amy Brown Teague, Charles Brown III; her great-grandson, Justin Boatman; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be on Friday, October 8, 1999 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home of Taft. Private family burial on Saturday, October 9, 1999 at Sinton Cemetery, followed by a public Memorial Service at First Methodist Church of Taft at 11:00 a.m.
