From my Aunt Emma's memories of her grandmother: Emma Alvina was a very good singer. She sang at weddings, funerals, and other affairs. She assisted at the birth of her neighbors' children, but was not a mid-wife. She told many wonderful stories of happenings when she was young and was a very good cook.
She was buried on what would have been her 81st birthday, January 11, 1936.
