Mrs. Dorothy Christine Sloan, 85, of Stigler passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Haskell County Hospital. She was born on October 21, 1927 in Kinta to Jess Lefler and Vesta (Southern) Lefler. She grew up at Rose Hill and McCurtain where she received her education. She Married Frank Sloan on April 11, 1947 in Kinta and they made their home together in Lequire where they raised their family. She will always be remembered as loving to cook, gardening, hardworking, and most of all adoring her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Vesta Lefler; her husband, Frank Sloan; three brothers, Leon Lefler, Jackie Lefler, Billy Lefler; one sister, Gloria Jean Brown. Funeral Services will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Stigler with Reverend Willard Francis officiating. Pallbearers include Chris Sloan, Cody Sloan, Tim Honeycutt, Jake Basden, Sean Haney, Clay Basden, and Zack Honeycutt. Burial will immediately follow at San Bois Cemetery under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
