Although the grave marker has different dates, death and census records confirm that he was born in Vermont in June 1823, and died in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he had lived with his wife Elzina, in Nov 1900, and was buried in Saxonville, Mass. (Perhaps the marker was replaced at some time? Or placed long after his death?)
