Vernon G. Olphin, Sr. FELTON-Vernon Glenwood Olphin, Sr., 80, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2005. He was the husband of the late Laura (Brenneman) Olphin. He was born in Felton on April 10, 1925, and was the son of the late Vertus and Laura (Keesey) Olphin.

Mr. Olphin was the owner of Red Lion Body and Fender, which he operated for four years. He also worked for Jones and Sipe Body Shop, Ellis Body Shop Kunkles Body Shop and Huber Tire Company. Vernon was also a part time farmer and an avid dog lover.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Vernon G. Olphin, Jr. and William A. Olphin and companion, Mary Ellen S. Buhrman, all of Felton; daughter, Sally Swartz of New Freedom; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Freda Breneman of Dallastown and Hazel Young of Freysville.

A viewing will be held Friday from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the John H. Danner Funeral Home, 822 E. Market St., York. The service will begin at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Juliann Whipple officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery in Felton.
