CLINTON, MAINE—Sylvia Gordon, 89 years old, of Clinton, Maine went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 30, 2012, as she passed away at Oak Grove Center in Waterville, Maine.

She was born on January 1, 1923, the daughter of Calvin and Della (Wilson) Craig. Sylvia was educated in Fairfield schools.

She was employed in various jobs, but was primarily a homemaker and caregiver to many friends. Sylvia was a member of Merry Meeting Chapter O.E.S., and also an active member of Blessed Hope Church.

Some of her hobbies included gardening, cooking, sewing, and enjoying life to the fullest.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Jack Gordon; her son, Clayton Morse; her brothers, Ronald and Leonard Craig; and her step children, William and Linda Gordon.

Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Sandra and her husband, Dean Davis of Shawmut, Maine, Ellen and her husband, Colburn Moody of Clinton, Maine, Wanetta and her husband, Wayne Witham of Clinton, Maine, and Jennie and her husband, Lee Walker of Tennessee; her grandchildren, William "Bub", Amy, Wendy, Joanne, Rickey, Melissa, David, Brian, Lorriann, Stacey, Valarie, Clayton, Chad, Lindsay, and Jesse; several great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; her brothers, Belford Craig of Waterville, Maine and Cecil Craig of Florida; and special friends, Reginald "Mitch" Michaud, Pastor Tim and Holly Setzer, Dr. Richard Dubocq and family, and Gloria Philbrick.

The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Dubocq and the loving care Sylvia received from everyone at Oak Grove Center as well as the special care from HealthReach Hospice.

Visiting hours will be from 2 to 3 p.m. with a funeral service to begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 4 at Blessed Hope Church, 10 Pleasant St., Waterville, Maine. Burial will be in the spring.
