HESTER CROSLAND

Hester Yongue Crosland, 99, resident of Emerald Gardens, widow of Dan F. Crosland, died February 4, 2008.

Born April 13, 1908 in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Eugene, Sr. and Catherine Ladd Cureton Yongue. She was a graduate of Chicora College, which is now Queens College in Charlotte, NC. She was a member of Greenwood First Presbyterian Church and the Camellia Garden Club.

Surviving are her son, Daniel F. "Buddy" Crosland of Greenwood; several nieces and nephews and her beloved friends Helen, Calvin and Steve Hodges.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crosland was predeceased by a son, Norman Eugene Crosland; brothers, Dr. J.D. Yongue, Robert Eugene Yongue, Jr., Charles C. Yongue, Martin C. Yongue, Norman E. Yongue, George E. Yongue and Webb L. Yongue; and sisters, Mrs. Belle Garvin, Mrs. Frances Vinson, Mrs. Henrietta Hicks and Mrs. Margaret Floyd.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Pickens with Dr. George Wilson officiating.

The body is at Blyth Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
