DURAND - Darlis Wynema Jenkins Reed, 76, of Durand went home to be with her best friend, Jesus Christ, at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004. Born Oct. 24, 1927, in Arkansas, the daughter of Thomas E. and Emma (Swan) Dudley. Lived 44 years in Durand, coming here from Rockford. Darlis married Aaron Jenkins March 16, 1946, in Charleston, Mo. She was employed by Atwood Industries, retiring in 1981. Darlis then worked at Logli's supermarket making donuts. Survivors include son, Terry Jenkins of Janesville, Wis.; daughter, Donna (Bill) Teubert of South Beloit; son, Daniel (Sheila) Jenkins of Beloit, Wis.; daughter, Janet (Dale) Cox of Davis; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Miller; brother, Maurice (Rosie) Dudley; sister, Floella (Tony) Myers, and brother, Harold (Rose) Dudley, all of Missouri; Predeceased by parents, Thomas and Emma Dudley; son, Larry Jenkins; and brothers, Don and Eddie.
Funeral ceremonies will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 16, in Fellowship Baptist Church, 863 Roscoe Ave., South Beloit, with visitation from 10:30 a.m. to service time; Pastor Brad Teubert will be officiating. Burial in Durand Cemetery. McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 Main St., Durand, is assisting the family.
