GALESBURG - Mrs. Jacqueline Carol Dunham, 55, 1600 Brown Ave., died 7:09 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born on Sept. 4, 1956, in Quincy to Elmer F. "Sonny" and Shirley Ann Hainline Nebe. She married David E. Dunham on March 18, 1978, at Faith United Methodist Church in Galesburg.
Jackie is survived by her husband, David; her mother, Shirley Ann Mettler of Galesburg; a son Ryne Cey Dunham of Galesburg; two daughters, Stacy Jo Dunham of Galesburg and Andrea Dunham-West of Knoxville; four sisters, Mary Nebe and Cheryl Luthin, both of Quincy, Debbie Hardin of Peoria, and Chris Foster of Galesburg; godmother to Jackie's children and grandchildren, Karna Peterson; five grandchildren, Kourtnie and Kolton Fox, Carter Dunham, Brenna West-Dunham and Aaron Dunham. She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Terry Lee Nebe; a sister, Julie Johnson; and a special friend, Dorothy Bogart.
Jackie was a cook and assistant manager at Steak 'n' Shake for 27 years. She was then a cook at Hy-Vee Foods on Henderson Street for 10 years.
She was a 1974 graduate of Galesburg High School. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
She loved to bake and cook. She really enjoyed making her grandchildren their birthday cakes each year. She loved her family more than anything. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was a very loving and caring person.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Faith United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norman Mendell officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Cremation will take place following the funeral service with burial at a later date.
