Purvis, MS

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Purvis Life Center for Mrs. Marlene Conway McDonald, 81, of Purvis.

She died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Forrest General Hospital.

Interment will be in Cherished Acres Cemetery.

Mrs. McDonald retired as office manager with Mississippi Farm Bureau Insurance. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Purvis where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the choir, and served on various committees. She was active with the Relay for Life as a cancer survivor, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

One of her favorite scriptures is Isaiah 40:31; "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; as they shall mount up with wings as eagles; and they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Deborah Hartfield and Jackie Cheryl Coleman; her first husband, Henry F. Hartfield.

She is survived by her husband, Larry McDonald of Purvis; a son, H. Farrell (Robin) Hartfield of Hernando, MS; two sisters, Alice Shoemake of Runnelstown and Evelyn Byrd of New Orleans, LA; six grandchildren, Heather, Chris, Henry, Josh, Trey, and Hayden; seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 PM Monday at Hulett-Winstead Purvis Chapel and beginning at 1:00 PM Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Purvis Life Center.
