Funeral for the Rev. Gerald Norman Drake, 72, of Falkville will be Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Vinemont with the Rev. Kerry Cleghorn and the Rev. Bill Gable officiating and Moss-Service Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
A Masonic graveside service will follow at Flint Creek Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
Rev. Drake, who died Sunday, June 12, 2005, at his residence, was born Sept. 14, 1932, in Falkville. He was a retired plumber/steamfitter. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Douglas Drake; and one brother, Kenneth Ralph Drake.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Young Drake; two sons, Gerald Douglas and his wife, Tarri, and Keith Drake; two daughters, Eydie Jordan and her husband, Clark, and Angie Lee Drake; his mother, Gracie Gertrude Powell Jones; one brother, Thomas Edwin Drake; one half brother, Mike Jones; one sister, Frances Allred; and five grandchildren, Luke and Wes Jordan, and Samantha, Abbie and Grace Drake.
