Services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, at Hulett Winstead Chapel for Mr. Clayton Victor "Cub" Nelson, 99, of Hattiesburg, MS, who died, Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Provision Living.

Interment will be in Roseland Park Cemetery, with Military Rites performed by the VFW Post 3036 Honor Guar d.

Mr. Nelson was a longtime employee of Hercules, Inc. He was a veteran of WW II and retired as a Major in the Army Reserve. His passion in life was aviation. He was a flight instructor and enjoyed building ultralight planes with friends. He was a charter member of Heritage United Methodist Church.

Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Byrd Nelson; one daughter, Sandra Nelson Perkins and his parents, John and Alma Nelson.

He is survived by his son, Dr. John C. Nelson, Sr. MD (Jan) of Hattiesburg, MS; a daughter, Vicki (Harold) Kornfuhrer of Fulton, MS; six grandchildren, Chole Nelson, John Clayton Nelson, Jr., Leisa (Ron) Farris, Lauren (Stephen) Gravereaux, Holly Roberts, and Kevin (Jennifer) Kornfuhrer; nine great-grandchildren; and fiance, Earlyne Taylor.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Heritage United Methodist Church, 3 Baracuda Dr. Hattiesburg, MS 39402.
