Marie E. Smith, age 97, of Pickford, Mich. passed away on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 at the home of her son, Lyle Harrison. At her request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be in the spring after arrangements and date have been set. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Pickford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Lilly Beacom; husbands Elwood Harrison and Kenneth Smith of Pickford; brothers Lesile (Maude) Beacom of Ripon, Wis., Shorty (Phyllis) Beacom of Pickford; sister Vera Mae (Lyle) Jenks of Sault Ste. Marie; daughter Rosa (Smith) Bennin and son-in-law Roger L. Bennin.

She is survived by one brother James (Alberta) Beacom of Largo, Fla.; and one sister Margaret (Ephraim) Cottle of Pickford; seven grand children, seventeen great, grand-children, and thirteen great, great, grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Marie loved her family and all her friends, very much. She attended the Pickford United Methodist Church.
