Thomas Kendrick Ware, age 52, died Tuesday afternoon at his home here, following an illness of many years.
The deceased was born and reared near Newnan, Ga., and came to Palatka in 1904 to engage in the lumber and turpentine business. He served in the World War and while engaged in overseas service received disabilities from which he was never able to recover.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grizelle Merrill Ware, and one son, Thomas Kendrick Ware, Jr., student at the University of the South, Suwanee, Tenn., and by four sisters, Mrs. W. H. Stallings of Newnan, Ga., Mrs. Guss Maddox of Hogansville, Ga., Mrs. J. R. Williams of Greenville, Ala., and Mrs. Ralph Sanders of Columbia, S.C.; and two brothers, A. C. Ware, Jr. of Pickens, S.C. and Britt Ware of Detroit, Mich.
Funeral services were held yesterday morning at the Presbyterian Church, with the pastor, Rev. Harry B. Frazer, officiating. Members of the Bert Hodge Post of the American Legion attended in a body and conducted the impressive interment service at the grave in West View Cemetery.
