Emma Mae Rush Deal, 96, resident of Sterling House and formerly of Troy, widow of David Frank Deal, entered into eternal rest February 15, 2012 at Hospice House. Born in Greenwood County, October 7, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Seaborn S. and Janie Corley Rush. A graduate of Hibler High School, McCormick County, Mrs. Deal retired from Park Seed Co. in 1990, after 50 years of service. She was a devoted member of Troy Baptist Church for 71 years, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, substitute pianist and was a member and past president of the WMU of the church. Surviving are a daughter, Benzie Witt-Donnald and husband Floyd; a grandson, Brian C. Witt and wife Jana and great-grandson, Grant T. Witt, all of Greenwood; a sister, Mamie R. Rambo of Greenwood; two brothers, Walter W. Rush of Greenwood and Rev. Dr. Wilbur J. Rush of Woodruff. Burial in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Blyth Funeral Home.
