A funeral service for Glen Peters was held Thursday, May 23, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. Burial was at Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley.
Glen Edward Peters was born July 3, 1932 in Hartley to Edward and Helen (Kruckenberg) Peters.
He graduated from high school and served his country in the United States Army from January 1953 until December 1954 when he was discharged as a Corporal. Glen married Marlys Negus on Oct. 21, 1956. They farmed by Hartley until 1994 when they moved to Wahpeton. Glen was baptized in 1932 and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in 1946.
He enjoyed fishing, farming, camping, playing cards and traveling.
Mr. Peters passed away May 20, 2013 at the Milford Nursing Center at 80 years of age.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marlys; daughters, Roxanne (Terry) Ashland from Wahpeton, Barbara Peters from Hartley; son, David (Wendy) Peters from Hartley; grandchildren, Kayla, Taryn, Cassie, Nathan and Mitchell; brother, Milo (Claris) Peters; sister-in-law, Ruth Peters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lester.
