Rita Mae Griffin, age 83, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away Monday, May 27, 2013, at her home in the presence of her loving husband. Rita was born Aug. 14, 1929, in Barre, Vt., at the Barre City Hospital to the late Joseph Cerasoli and Ila Cerasoli.

Rita worked as a stenographer for several insurance companies located in Vermont and Boston, Mass. Rita moved to El Paso, Texas, and was the Chief of Stenographers for Standard Oil Company.

Rita was a wife, mother, grandmother and interior designer/decorator extraordinaire.

In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by a sister, Ann Scott. Rita is survived by her husband, Lee D. Griffin; children, Wendy M. Griffin and Dona M. Pickett; two grandchildren, Bria B. Pickett and Marco W. Pickett, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

A visitation followed by a funeral service will be held for Rita from 11 a.m. to Noon on Monday, June 3, 2013, at the Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road, N.E., Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Burial will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery, 316 N.W. Beal Pkwy, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
