"Russell J. Ridge Sr.
Russell J. Ridge Sr., 64, of 814 W. Race St., died last evening in Pottsville Hospital. He was admitted Wednesday.
Mr. Ridge was born in Wellsboro, son of Louis and Millie (Hansen) Ridge. He was a retired employe of J. H. Brokhoff Dairy. Mr. Ridge was affiliated with the Methodist Church and was a member of West End Hose Company of Pottsville.
Surviving in addition to his wife, the former Pearl Paul, are seven children: John, a teacher at Moravian College, Bethlehem; Milton, Port Carbon; William RD, Schuylkill Haven; Russell Jr., and Harry of Pottsville; Raymond of North Carolina; and Elizabeth of Fredericksburg; three sisters: Kathryn, wife of Thornton Dartt of Cameran, N.Y; Mrs. Evelyn Newman of Syracuse, N.Y.; and Carolyn, wife of Leon Knatt of Elmira, N.Y.; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral Monday afternoon from Robert Evans Funeral Home, Port Carbon. Rev. H. Rodney Stoner, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Port Carbon, will officiate. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown." From The Pottsville Republican, October 2, 1970, page 22
