Randal Jay "Spot" Scott, age 57, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at his residence.

A native of Burke County, he had resided in Haywood County for the past 30 years. He was the son of Ada Scott of Glen Alpine and the late Buck Scott and was also preceded in death by a son, Ryan Scott. Randy will be remembered for having a quick wit and strong sense of humor having never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time working in his garage and above all adored his family, especially his nine grandchildren whom he especially loved.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Brenda Scott; three daughters, Randi Hatherlee and her husband, Jason, Reba Scott and her fiancé, Andrew McFalls, and Rayna Scott all of Canton; three sons, Dustin Campbell and his fiancé, Heather Conard of Candler, Tobie Campbell of Candler, and Remmington Scott of Canton; two brothers, Reid Scott and his wife, Pat, and Rick Scott and his wife, Rita, all of Glen Alpine; nine grandchildren, Zoe, Faythe, Savannah, Paige, Natalya, Camille, Buck, Josie, and a special granddaughter, Bailey of Hawaii.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Chris Jennings officiating. Burial followed at Bethel Community Cemetery.
