On September 9, 1935, Thelma was united in marriage to Joseph James Reynolds. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Thelma enjoyed her involvement in the EHU Unit in Chanute and was active in various church affiliations. She spent many hours gardening, caring for her roses, sewing and cooking. She also owned Thelma's Café in Altoona for several years.

Her parents, Walter and Nora Whisler; son, Floyd A. Reynolds; daughter, Barbara J. Burgan; and several brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Altoona Cemetery with Dewayne Prosser officiating.
A visitation has been scheduled prior to the graveside on Friday morning, 9:00 A.M.-10:30 A.M. at Timmons Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Golden Living Center of Neodesha and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home.
