G.G. Andrews, 73 Dies Suddenly

Gregory G. Andrews, 73, retired educator, died very suddenly Monday night at his camp at Whitefish Lake, Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada, where he was spending the summer. Dr. Seabold, whom he had visited the evening previous, found Mr. Andrews lying on the dock early Tuesday morning.

Services will be conducted from the Foster funeral home Friday at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Cyrus M. Gonigam, pastor of the Congregational Church officiating. Interment will be in Pulaski cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.

Surviving are a daughter. Miss Jane Andrews of New York City, and two nephews, John Andrews of Syracuse and Bruce Andrews of New York City. His wife, Mrs. May Woods Andrews, died in June 1950.

Mr. Andrews was born in Jordan on July 24, 1882, the son of Gregory G. and Ellen Cullen Andrews. He was graduated from Syracuse University and served as superintendent of Education at George Junior Republic in the initial stages of development and was principal of the Pulaski Academy in 1910-11. He was hv the teaching profession 60 years, the greater part of which was spent as vice principal of Vocational High School in Syracuse. He retired in 1961 moving to Pulaski at that time. He was married to Miss May Woods in 1913 in Pulaski.

He was a member of the Congregational Church, and president of the Pulaski Council of Churches at the time of his death, and was a member of Utica Masonic Lodge in Syracuse.
