Obituary of Mrs Emma Barkyomb
Rockville, Conn

Mrs Emma Barkyoumb 84, died Thursday in Rockville, after a long illness.

She was born in Sugarloaf, Canada Oct 30, 1897, daughter of Edward and Melvina Gilbeau.

She had lived in Connecticut for the past 32 years and in her younger years was employed as a Forman on a tobacco farm in Connecticut. She married Charles Barkyoumb September 1913. Mr Barkyoumb predeceased her in 1968.

She leaves five sons: Orie of Cropseyville NY, Wilbur of Southwick, Mass, Maxie Lee of Schenectady, NY and Wellington of Enfield; seven daughters, Malvina Doner and Marjorie Destromp of Underhill, Leona Peatman of Middlesex , Matilda Destromp of Burlington, Marlene Carney of Connecticut, Jacqueline Wright of Tampa Florida and Joanne Chmielecki of Rockville; two brothers, Edward Gilbeau of Essex Junction, and Wiley Gilbeau of New Hampshire; 72 grandchildren; 70 great grandchildren; five great great grand children, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. in St Thomas Church in Underhill Center, Interment following in St Thomas Cemetery. Visiting hours 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Sunday at the Gifford Funeral Home in Underhill.
