PURDON- Athol (Al) Alexander of Port Colborne passed away at Northland Pointe Regional Home on Tuesday November 29, 2005 at the age of 91 years. Beloved husband of Mabel Purdon (Fothergill) for 64 years, loving father of Betty and her husband Robert Wood of Port Colborne, Patsy and her husband Wayne Miller of Phoenix, Arizona, Doug Purdon and his wife Debbie of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Shelley and her husband Brian Walker of Newmarket…... He was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Christina Purdon, a daughter Marilyn Purdon, sisters Cassie, Florence, Clara, Isabel and brothers William and Donald. He served his country in World War II as a member of The Canadian Army, was the owner of a bakery and clothing store in Wingham Ontario, Edgewater Construction Company in Sarnia Ontario, and in his later years was a Real Estate Agent in the Welland/Port Colborne communities. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years and an avid bowler. The family will receive visitors at the PORT COLBORNE CHAPEL of the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOMES 135 Clarence St. on Monday December 5, 2005 from 12 noon until the time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m., led by a family member. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, memorial donations may be made to Northland Pointe Regional Home, Lakeside Gardens’ Wing. The family are very appreciative and thankful for the special care and compassion given to our Dad and Grandfather during his final days, by the Northland Pointe, Lakeside Gardens’ Staff.
